For me?
My weekend was such a delight – filled with laughter involving time with B whom I felt like I hadn’t seen in ages ‘cos he was busy shaking his booty at a K-Pop concert the previous weekend, having four delightful ladies over at my place for a girly night in, hanging out with top folk at a popiah party and going on a shopping spree with a lethal shopper (should I mention names? heh heh heh) But aside from that, I was pleasantly surprised on Sunday when René left me a message letting me know that she had gifts for me. Note the plural form! I was not expecting this at all and she wrote me the most beautiful note – she is truly lovely. Can’t wait to use the three journals she got me!
Then, just when I think that getting that surprise from René was tops, I received a package at work today! Not just any package, but a BIG FAT box… all the way from Korea!! Loré mailed me a boxed filled with gorgeous goodness! I was sooooo thrilled! I guess it makes it easier having a friend overseas if it means getting amazing gifts! Ha. Ha. I joke.. or do I?
The love I’m feeling right now is immense! I told God a few things I had on my heart and my worries of the future but worked out that I was just going to surrender everything to Him even if it meant the chances of things not going according to how I would like them to happen… and I really feel that by receiving these two amazing presents both locally and internationally was His way of saying, “It’s okay, I’ve got it sorted and I’m lookin’ out for ya, kid”

So much to catch up on…
It’s been well over a month since posting anything up here. October has been very much a blur. I’ve finally moved into my own place where I’m now able to walk to work and say goodbye to my long commutes to and fro that took up a total of about 2 and a half hours of my day (sometimes longer on bad days).
This house that I call my own has been such a journey and if I had one word to describe it, it would have to be: patience. It’s a whole lot of waiting. Waiting for the house to be ready. Waiting to hear about settlement. Waiting to get my keys. Going through long processes to get things set up. Taking time to furnish my home. I have a TV with no signal and I have yet to have any internet connection (but I am one step closer!)
Anyway, all in all – I’m happy to be where I am. Walking to work every day has been a surreal experience. I still can’t believe that I have my own home, travel is much easier and I’m so much more central. It’s been such a joy to have friends come over and I really do just want my home to be a place for friends to come over anytime; pretty much taking on the ‘mi casa es su casa’ stance. It’s really been great.
I also have a gorgeous cat in my house who keeps me company. From what was meant to be me cat-sitting for a few weeks turned into something permanent! She is beautiful, loves belly rubs, cuddles, waits for me and greets me every time I get home with no motive of wanting me to feed her. Very different to my previous psycho kitty whom I still love (consider it a destructive relationship if you will…)
Work in the studio is good. We’ve got new people on board and the dynamics are great. Obviously there are the highs and lows from time to time but what is great is how we get through every hard week, chins up and still able to power on. The longer I’ve been in the studio, the more I’ve realised the strengths of others and how we all contribute and create extraordinary outcomes together. Not one is stronger than the other, it’s just that we are all unique in our strengths and together we make awesome. It’s a good kind of glue, I reckon.
A lot has happened and there’s too much to articulate in one post – it will well and truly be a dog’s breakfast of my thoughts if I started writing absolutely everything. In a snapshot, all is good. Yes, there have been some bad eggs, bad moments in the last few months but you know what? Life is far too short for whinging.
